Line stickers with German, English and Chinese daily expression
Welcome to my portfolio showcase of a unique and delightful project: designing sticker collections for the popular chat app Line. This project draws inspiration from the iconic German bread pretzel, a symbol of culture and comfort, to create engaging and fun stickers aimed at enhancing the chat experience for users.
Inspiration
The inspiration for this sticker collection comes from the beloved German bread pretzel. The pretzel’s warm, inviting shape and cultural significance served as the perfect muse for creating charming and relatable sticker characters.
Target Group
This collection was specifically designed for German learners and Line app users, with a particular focus on the Taiwanese community. The stickers aim to make learning German fun and interactive, while also providing a unique cultural touchpoint for users.
Language
The stickers primarily feature German expressions, catering to those who are learning the language or appreciate German culture.
Version 1: AI-Generated Pretzel Stickers
In the first version of the collection, I created 16 pretzel character stickers using the AI image generator, Chat GPT-4 and DALL.E. Each sticker was paired with a German daily expression, adding a linguistic element to the visual charm.
Version 2: Hand-Drawn Pretzel Stickers
Based on feedback and the desire to add a personal touch, the second version of the collection was hand-drawn using Procreate. This version allowed for greater creativity and customization:

- Pretzel Character Elements: I hand-drew the pretzel bodies, expressions, arms, and legs.

- Building Stickers: These elements were combined in various ways in Figma, much like building with Lego, to create a wide array of unique and expressive characters.
Feedback and Improvements
From the feedback received on Version 1, several enhancements were made:
- Improved Readability: A white outline was added to the text on the stickers, ensuring that the words are easily readable on dark backgrounds.

- Multilingual Support: To cater to a broader audience, Chinese and English versions of the stickers were created, making the stickers accessible to diverse language speakers.
This project not only showcases my design skills and creativity but also my ability to incorporate feedback and improve user experience. The pretzel stickers aim to bring a smile to users’ faces while making their conversations more colorful and culturally enriching.
